Dr. Mitch Peritz graduated from the New York Chiropractic College in 1984 and established a private practice specializing in sports injuries and clinical nutrition. He is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist (C.C.N.) and Certified Chiropractic Sports Physicians (C.C.S.P.). He is recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as an expert in the field of athletic training. Other achievements include certification as a Bach Flower Counselor, Reiki Master, Certified Kinesio-Tape Practitioner (CKTP) and Applied Kinesiologist.
He was formerly the chiropractic consultant to Irene Hultman Dance and affiliated with the Sarah Lawrence College Department of Dance.
Dr. Peritz has made numerous radio and television appearances including Gary Null’s “Natural Living”, “A Better World”, “She T.V.” and “Unearthing the Truth About Psychiatry”. He has done numerous presentations throughout the city including the New York Presbyterian Hospital Health Outreach and The American Infertility Association and Adoption Conference 2000.
Dr. Peritz has been very involved in community activity and adolescent health issues. He received the New York Mayoral Certificate of Recognition for Community Service for his work at the City Kids Foundation in lower Manhattan. He co-developed the Peer Counseling Program and was the director of the Coalition weekly meetings that addressed the current issues facing today’s adolescence. During his tenure at City Kids he appeared on “Good Day New York”, and “The Denise Richards Show” as an adolescent advocate. He spoke out on adolescent stress and cultural violence on “Sex, Drugs and You Can Dance to It” and was a main presenter at the 50th anniversary of Unesco’s International Conference on “Kid’s Rights and Violence on the Screen”. He also participated in The National Teen Summit on Hate
as a leader and workshop organizer.

Immediately following the tragedy of 9-11, Dr. Peritz volunteered at St. Vincent's Hospital Ear Acupuncture Clinic, treating doctors, nurses and individuals, from the surrounding communities, directly impacted by the day’s events. He also acted as an on-site coordinator in Ground Zero, on behalf of the Institute of Swedish Massage, treating the fire fighters, police officers and ironworkers involved with the rescue and recovery.
Dr. Peritz currently resides in Boulder, Colorado.
